DISC GOLF

Frisbees wouldn't travel the same distance if it is thrown without spin. Spinning a frisbee helps it fly by supplying angular momentum, which keeps the frisbee stable while it is rotating. The quicker a frisbee rotates the more stable the frisbee will be.
Speed on a frisbee golf disc is measured but the drag is has. If a frisbee has little drag then it will fly a greater distance, but more drag it will not fly as far. They make the edges of frisbees that are used to drive with; have sharper edges making it cut through the air better, therefore it can fly for a much larger distance.
Glide has to do with the discs ability to stay in the air for different amounts of time caused by the lift. Different disc types have the ability to glide for longer or shorter times than others. The thrower has the ability to change the glide of a disc by changing the launch angle, which will change how much lift the frisbee has on it. If the thrower has a positive launch angle, then the frisbee will have a longer glide, therefore if they have a negative launch angle the glide will be shorter.
